Inside the CEO

A Course for Aspiring and New Chief Executive Officers

The Chief Professional, whether called CEO, Executive Director or otherwise, is the most important and most challenging factor in the success of human service organizations.

New CEO’s are often surprised and challenged by how different the job of a CEO is from their prior management roles. They need proficiency in strategy, governance and fundraising, areas in which they may have previously had minimal engagement. They must learn new patterns of communication, relationship building, decision-making and problem solving, and all while dealing with the day to day demands of a human service organization. To increase the likelihood of success, aspiring CEOs need training, before they take the job.

This is the fourth time Inside the CEO is being offered.  Over the course of six full-day sessions spanning four months, aspiring or new CEOs will develop the knowledge, skills and critical perspectives that enable them to lead, manage and problem-solve through the lens of the CEO.

Applicants should have at least five years, post graduate experience, preferably in a role with management responsibilities (nonprofit, for-profit or government). Please apply only if you intend to participate in each session. Admission is at the discretion of the instructor.

Application deadline: Friday, December 9.
