A visioning moment from our first Delmar Divine event, Culture & Connection hosted by Filament.

Washington University, the Brown School, and Center for Human Service Leadership are partners in Delmar DivINe. The Center’s vision is transforming the real estate project into a vibrant, collaborative, innovative community advanceing social impact for our region. In pursuit of that vision, the Center will provide on-site organizational capacity building services to improve the ability of our tenants to deliver high quality, effective and efficient services. Initially, we envision four core functions for the Center:

Animation: The Center team will organize a variety of educational programs, social and on-boarding activities to connect tenants, facilitate relationships, stimulate collaboration, enhance employee morale and build a distinctive Delmar DivINe community culture that centers diversity, equity and inclusion.

Concierge Information & Referral Services: The team will research and obtain answers to day-to-day problems, provide informal management consulting, make referrals and introductions, curate & disseminate information to tenants, acting as an extension of the tenant’s management.

Connect to Brown School and Washington University resources: As part of the ongoing partnership between Delmar DivINe and Washington University, the Center team will facilitate access to other services such as Professional Development, Evaluation Center, Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation Lab, Office of Field Education, faculty supported student projects, and Community Engagement department. Many of these may conduct programs and services at Delmar DivINe.

Professional Development and Executive Education: The Center will design, plan and implement a variety of both informal and formal educational and training programs designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of organizational leaders, staff, board members and volunteers. Informal programming may take the form of Lunch n’Learn, outside speakers, communities of practice and events associated with Nonprofit Café. Formal workshops and extended executive education series will explore issues such as middle management skills, leadership skills for senior managers, fundraising, performance management, data management & analysis, and more.
